sorry for another question, I work 3rd shift so i write down my questions and ask them in the morning when i get home. my computer time is up at 11:00 am my time. my personal rules. I go to bed and get up at 5:00 pm and see what anwsers i have. works out great. anyhow, ive seen that some say use the prc as is, its the best. but expensive to repair. some say koni adjustables are the best, strip out the prc and go with these. same for the kyb. I keep my prc in firm, but seems kind of soft it floats some when hitting bumps or dips in the road. alot like my lincoln mark vii did with its air ride. It could be posible my firm switch is bad, the firm light is not on except when cornoring braking or excellerating. so prc might be ok, i did run the diagnostic and it indicated no problems. but would striping the prc out and going with the other shocks something we may all be forced to do since the prc parts are discontinued? I figure since i will be rebuilding the front suspension next month i might have to replace the shocks if they are bad. just checking the options.

If your PRC switch is set to "firm", the green light should be on full time. If it isn't, something is wrong. If the green light isn't on, then it's not in firm mode and you will get that floaty response. I can't tell you what is wrong, but maybe run the diagnostics a second time.

Check your switch. When I bought my 2nd TC the light would never go on. I took the switch off my parts car TC and the PRC works fine now. Make sure your switch is working before you do anything next.

Sounds like your switch is hooped.
If you run in firm all the time just put a jumper wire behind the switch.

My experience with PRC vrs Monroe;
The Monroes ride nice, they absorb bump and control rebound
The PRC in firm mode are 50/50, meaning they control both compression and rebound.
I like to use the switch depending on my driving and how my body feels. [Image: smile.gif]

I bought an 88 that had the exact same problem as yours. With the switch in the firm mode, the light only came on during accelaration, braking and cornering. After asking around, I was told to take the switch apart and clean it. I cleaned it, put it together and it works fine now. Just watch out for the spring that may fly out. It's really easy and not bad at all.
