power steering noise

First a little history;
Last year my car blew the power steering pressure line off of the pump. I wasn't far from home so I limped it back home without any power steering. I bought a new pressure hose and pump and I replaced the pressure hose with a new one and flushed the fluid with a full 4L jug of ATF turning the wheels lock to lock. It was still making noise so I replaced the pump and bled the system by turning the wheels lock to lock and keeping the fluid topped up. The new pump was still noisy, not as bad as the old one but still loud and it never got quieter after a few thousand KM. I then had to park the car for winter and it sat in my heated garage for 6 months.

Now it's spring time and I want to get the car ready for the road. I changed the engine oil and checked everything over like I normally do every year and I noticed the power steering fluid was over full but not overflowing and there was even some fluid that some how spewed out the cap. When I started the car for the first time in 6 months the power steering pump was very noisy. I have spent the last 3 days trying to get this pump to quiet down and it just wont. I went for a drive around the block and the steering wheel feels good, no hard spots or anything. There are no visible fluid leaks, I double and triple checked all the connections to make sure their tight, turned the wheel lock to lock several times. I sucked the fluid out of the res and added a bottle of Lucas power steering additive, when I started the car it was dead silent for about 2 seconds then the noise came back. I bought another cap drilled it out for a hose barb and tried vacuum bleeding but that doesn't seem to work. I am pretty much at the end of my rope here. Am I missing something? Any suggestions before I burn $120 on another pump or burn something else?

I would recommend doing this
http://turbotbird.com/techinfo/power_steering.htm

I did this to try to get rid of the whine from my steering
It only does it when there is a load, I flushed the fluid and the noise is still there but steering works flawlessly
I would be very happy if the noise on mine went away so I would love to hear other tips
I haven't bought a new steering pump yet but for how many miles my car has I'm happy it runs as well as it does

Ramos617, I've done that more than once before but thanks for the suggestion. I know that a little power steering whine can be normal with these pumps. Mine was very loud and almost sounded like someone was holding the wheel full lock, and this is when the wheels are straight and not touching the steering wheel with the car just idling.

I bought another pump today, this time from a different store. I installed the new pump and its so much quieter now. I believe the first remanufactured pump I got was a dud.
