power window is fixed, next problem.my power seats do not work ive checked for power with a test light and there is no power at the switch in the console or at the connectors under the seats (correction one wire has constant power under the seat). ive looked at all the plastic fuses under the dash and theyre all good. there are four metal items in the fuse panel that i have no clue what they are for. are there any relays and such that i should be checking. there are three or four fuses in the trunk on the passenger side, could anyone tell me what they are for.i really appreciate any help

The power seat(s) get their power from a connector near the driver-side door sill. Remove the sill plate and pull back the carpet. Somewhere around there you should see a connector with three wires. Strictly off the top of my head, I think these are black (ground), black/yellow (constant 12v), and orange/purple. Check for 12 volts across the black and black/yellow wires. If you have power there, it's a problem with the wiring harness for the seat. If not, then it is a blown fuse, wiring problem, etc.

Okay, I'm doing this from memory since my manuals are not handy - I'll check later, but I'm pretty sure that one of those metal box-looking things in the fuse box controls both the power seats and either the power windows or power locks. When my daughter and I were playing carnival ride with the passenger seat, the base scissored some wires, and the power seats shorted the fuse, which also disabled the windows and/or door locks. I forget what position it is, though. When I fixed the wiring, the fuse reset. I guess the important thing, though, is that if your windows and door locks still work, I'm pretty sure that it isn't the fuse.

Okay, got the EVTM for an 86 - since the seats and switches in my car are transplanted from an 88, and had no issues on the install, you can probably assume similarity across model years in this instance.

Seats are powered through Fuse 12, along with power door locks and keyless entry. It is a 20amp circuit breaker. Power goes from the fuses to the switches via a black/white wire, which should be always hot. The switches control the seat motors by making one wire in a pair hot and the other ground, and then reverse movement by reversing the hot and ground. On both seats, front height is through a Y/LB and R/LB pair. Forward/rearward movement is controlled through a Y/W and R/W pair. Rear Height is controlled by a Y/LG and R/LG pair. Black is a common ground to all switches.

The EVTM troubleshooting tips suggest that if the seats don't work, check that Ground 206 (on RH floor pan) is clean and tight.

Hope this helps.
