Ok guys, I know that you all believe in a gutted upper, but has anyone ever tried porting an inline? Well I did. I opened up the runners to flow more air and I knife edged it at the upper instead of at the lower like the 87-88. I also opened up the upper to accomodate a 65mm SC Throttlebody. I know! I know! The 87 gutted is stated to be better but the inline looks so much like a GT40 for a 5.0 I just wanted to try it. Plus I hear the inline is good for bottom end and everyday city driving performance. I'll post pics of the intake on friday.

Actually I'm more a fan of exactly what you've done. In fact, I've been trying to track down an inline upper and lower to do exactly that.

I definitely want to see it when it's done.

I went with an '87 ported and knife-edged upper rather than gutted. My theory is that it'll give me higher air velocity through the intake system that way, promoting better fuel atomization/mixing and faster/more complete cylinder filling.

Of course I be an old fart and have been wrong before! [Image: biggrin.gif]

I had a guy named madadder on turboford do it for me. My guess is it was a PITA because he told me mine would be the first and the last one he ever did. Very time consuming.
