Hey guys, took the car out (with the oil leak) to cruz around a bit and try to get into some trouble...well...i got on it a few times(not racing just showing off!!) with my buddy in the car...and when i kick it, and the boost comes in...it comes in hard...but right at about 4000 rpm...the thing wants to "pop" and it feels like its loosing power for that one instant...after it does it a few times...it goes right along fine(about 5200 rpms its cleared out). i was thinking it was Detonation...but
1-i have my knock sensor in
2-since my car has that stupid vacuum problem i am only boosting about 15 psi when this happens
3-i run 93 octane ALWAYS
4-i have run alot more boost with out trouble.
This car is beginning to become a problem...big problem. if this is detonation...why is it happening now and not before when i ran 18-20 psi CONSTANTLY? Could it have something to do with my oil leak or my boost problem?(i have the gillis valve ALL the way screwed down at FULL BOOST and i am still only getting 18..then it drops to 15 psi) whats going on? any ideas?
Thanks
Zach
