My car has had this nagging problem for a while but i forgot about it cause i was driving my bronco. When the car sees boost for a while, or when the rpms run up to about 5k the car starts stumbling and running really terrible. I hooked a Fp gauge up to it today and with the line off it reads 45, line on was no difference, it has a brand new oem fpr and fuel pump. When casually driving down the road it read 40ish, and when i stepped on it the pressure read 70ish, then it started the stumbling. When i got back out of the boost the gauge didnt go down at all and the car stalled. It took about 5 mins to start back up then stumbled all the way home, once i parked it i let it run for a minute and the stumble went away. I have no codes, Please help.

Sounds like your FPR is bad. You might need spark plugs once you fix your fuel dumpage problem.
There is an excellent tech article about fuel pressure diagnostics. You'll need to complete the test to be sure your fuel system is up to snuff.

Do you think its running too rich and making it run bad? it doesnt make black smoke, and the fpr has maybe 1000 miles on it, the plugs are new motorcraft too.

45 psi is the upper limit of acceptable pressure in steps 1 and 7 of the diagnostics. However if 45 was you base, then to get to properly get to 70 psi on the diagnostics, you would need to be pushing 25 +psi boost!! Are you running that much boost?
If not, you need to find what is causing that much rise in fuel pressure???
It could be the regulator but find out for sure. Regulators can come bad from the box. Run the whole diagnostics and check all the items mentioned in the steps

Pull a spark plug out. They'll tell you if you're running rich. If it looks black, dry and sooty, it's running rich.
What are the brands of the FPR and FP? I'm just guessing but if you do the test procedure you'll know for sure. It's very well written and concise.
Unless you got a crushed fuel return line?

The FPR and FP are stock replacements from Discount Auto Parts. I'll try the full test tomorrow.

"Discount Auto Parts" Are they a Ford dealer?
I too am always looking for a way to save $$$ but I learned long ago some parts are better off bought from a Ford dealer. The FP just pumps fuel, that's why they call it a fuel pump, it may or may not pump an adequate amount.
The FPR, on the other hand, regulates how much fuel pressure the engine sees. I would check it out better, maybe exchange it for a new one & see what it does. The numbers you mentioned make me think the pump is doing what it's supposed to do but the regulator is off.
The 255LPH fuel pump listed in my sig isn't the much ballyhooed "Walbro" but it works fine & I sleep well at night knowing it's there. I've had it almost 2 years & it hasn't let me down yet though, I'm not running 25+ #'s of boost, daily.

Oh yeah and i forgot, the FPR fixed the pressure problem, but it still bucked and stumbled really bad under boost. So, i took everything apart and still couldnt figure it out. On a hunch i took off this awesome, cool, chrome, shiny pipe i had going from my air filter to my turbo and replaced it with the old Ford one and now everything runs great. Guess the old one had a leak or something.
