plagued by detonation

its about 45* out, i hvae my base timing at 10*, fuel switch is on Regular, rolling into the throttle in 3rd or 4th on the highway i get a bunch of good pings right away, it clear up then starts to do it again by the end of the rpm range, according to my boost gauge im getting 19psi until 5000rpms then it drops to 18.

i think my timing is safe, i dotn think it should ping on 10* and on the reg fuel setting.
im dynoing the car on the 26th just to get an AF ratio out of it, im pretty sure its starving for fuel. maybe ill order the 255lph HO before i dyno it, but id really like to see whats going on before i throw parts at it.

Light load detonation can be a sign of EGR problems.

What octane are you running with that 19 psi and what gauge are you reading that with? if you are still running the stock pump that would be a good place to start. Rather than possibly blow something on the dyno why not check fuel first:

i guess i worded that wrong, rolling into WOT instead of just smashing it. it pings for a sec clears out but still gets a few as the rpms climb. i run 93 octane, my stock gauge says 19#s of boost, i run a gillis valve thats rated to regulate up to 20psi, i have it cranked all the way in. yes im still running the stock pump

Check your timing with the spout disconnected, check your boost level with a good gauge, not the stock gauge, check the EGR, and check for any codes. I've been told that excessive carbon build up in the cylinder(s) will cause pinging but I have no experience with that.

lso, have you pulled the codes lately? I still recommend doing the fuel system diagnostics

i do have one code that i havent figured out, it says ECT out of range, but i replaced it and it still hasnt gone away. the car runs good, maybe my o2 sensor is bad? ive tested the fuel pressure before, it gets 1psi of fp for 1psi of boost, but i cant safely got wot through all 4 gears on the street to see if it kibbys out after having to put out 57psi for 15 sec or so.

the timing was set before i went out and did the test runs this afternoon, i set it to 10* with the spout out. then i turned the fuel switch to regular to be even safer. the EGR has been deleted and it doesnt operate at wide open throttle anyway. the cylinder head has been off this car when i did the head gasket and i cleand it, the pistons are clean as well as the cumbustion chamber.

That will most likely be your problem.
NO TC and NO headaches.
