Pics of the bird

Hi all

Just posting a few pics of my bird. I recently did the rotors, pads, ball joints and tie rods and figured I should pay a little attention to the interior.

This is probably the first time I have cleaned and detailed the interior since I first posted pics of it when I bought it 3 years back. Amazing how dirty a daily driver gets. wish I had a before and after shot.

After wiping everything down with a damp cloth I let it dry and used mink oil to bring back the luster and shine of the leather, vinyl and plastics. this stuff is amazing, I started using it to water proof my work boots and figured I would try it on the car. A word of caution though, This stuff(like any detailing product) can potentially stain your interior, I had no ill effects from using it this time or 3 years back when I got it. I would just test it on an in-conspicuous area first. Also I did the top of my dash and driving in the sun is slightly more blinding.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers,
Joe

P.S. I know I did a poor job vacuuming so don't bother pointing that out.....

Joe, I have been using mink oil on leather (coats, shoes, gloves) for many years. Also have been using it on the dash pad of the white car for several years. Knock on wood, no cracks so far

It's great stuff, I have only used it in this car and the dash looks shiny new. My older cars never had the stuff and cracked like crazy and dried out pretty fast too.

Looks really good, Joe.

I always wanted to get a set of interior door panels with the leather insert.

BTW - kind of a poor vacuuming job. Confusedtickpoke: :giggle:

Looks great! So guys, I don't know much about leather interior, I've had cloth mostly so far, now I have a newer car with black leather that hasn't needed any maintenance so far, but maybe I should start and I just bought used leather interior for my tbird. I've heard mink oil is not good for finished leather, I don't really know what finished or non finished leather is guess I'll google it. Obviously the pictures prove the mink oil makes 25 year old leather seats look good, so maybe that answers it. For you guys that use it do you have any opinion for the people that say you shouldn't use it?? or use any particular products!

The leather looks great, and to think it's 1/4 century old!
