It's not the greatest, but it's gonna make a GREAT project. It's really not gonna take to much to get it fixed. First thing to do is to get the body together. Then, I can worry about finding an engine.

Here's a few pics. First thing to do is to get rid of them wheels! I'm gonna put on my set of TC wheels. I still need to clean up the interior which is in real good shape other than the drivers seat being BROKE.
What seats from what cars are direct replacements? I wanna go with something more sporty, like the 87-88 TC seats. Those won't fit because of being power...right?

What'cha guy's think?

Setting at my work waiting for body work and paint to be finished... only 8 months so far!

Do i smell a 2.3l turbo in the future??? or are ya gonan just add 4 more cylinders?

Stang looks clean, the TC seats should fit, and the motors come off the seats and you can bolt up the non powere adjustemnt that the mustang has in it now, at lkeast that what i think, sounds right, but maybe someone else can confirm it

HELL YEAH THERE'S GONNA BE A TURBO IN THIS ONE!!
This is strictly a turbo project!
I'm gonna have to keep it like it is for now...atleast until I get the money to buy the parts to fix it and I'll have to find a motor. The motor and trans that's in are in good shape from what I can tell. The thing drives AWSOME...a bit slow, but it drives good.

Not bad for $400!
This car has red interior and there is a wrecked TC at the Jyard with red seats.
Hmmm, I might have to check into that.
How much would a set of seats from a newer Stang run?

If you need a hood for it, I just put a hood from my friend's '87 GT on ebay about 10 minutes ago. It's going to go cheap. You may be interested. It's item number 599289568.

Pimpstang! Are you gonna be pimpin' that one out too? I can't wait to see how it ends up! The best site I can offer you for mustang parts would be www.stangparts.com. They've got everything. Ok jeez, I was gonna get a nice stang but couldn't find one so can I live through yours?
You know... You COULD get 17" Cobra R's, convert to TC all wheel disc. It would look great with red calipers and nice shiny rotors... Then you could get an ABC 700 ground effects kit for $400. It seems like alot, but it REALLY cleans up the lines and makes the car seem smooth as buttah. www.abcexclusive.com. If you wanna see it just look into any Muscle Mustang mag and it's there. Then, I think it would look great in grabber green with blue Shelby racing stripes. Ok, thanks for letting ramble and no, you don't owe anything for the consultation fee [Image: wink.gif]

Got the install directions for the shaved handles yet?

No no no, This has got to be phloresent (sp) purple or something like that! Hey that doesn't look like big bucks to fix. Are those 14's or 15" wheels? If they're 15's and we lived a little closer I would swap you a good 2.3L turbo engine (out of a Merkur XR4TI) Not sure exactly what kind of shape the turbo is in, was running fine when the kid I sold the car to rearended someone and pretty much totalled the front end.

There 14's...
If you know anyone that might want to trade something I need for them, or buy 'em, I'll do it. I'm gonna put my TC wheels on the notch anyway.

Joneser,
Well darn, I was hopeing they were at least 15's. But I was afraid of that being a LX 4cyl. Oh well, if I hear of anyone That would like to have them I'll yell at ya.

I'd really like to find a set of Pony wheels for my 86 later on, matter of fact there is a set in the local paper with tires for $400, seems like a pretty good price but can't buy them now! Wanting a new top, paint and with Christmas.

Tim, looks like a promising project car. I'm picturing gunmetal grey, lowered, TC wheels or pony wheels on 50 series tires, 2.3 turbo JY motor with a shot of spray and the usual bolt on mods, 4.10 rear, T5, and a mean turbo whistle. Being a body man this should be an easy fixer upper for you. Good luck!

'86 Mustang GT
usual bolt on stuff
'88 Thunderbird TC A4LD
'88 Thunderbird TC, daily headache with a few mods, 14.65 and still not happy Smile

'86 Mustang GT, daily transport, fresh 302, Twisted Wedge heads, Track Heat intake, custom cam, all the associated goodies, 4.10s, hoping for mid 12s n/a
