I am always giddy when I find a parts car.  This is my first for the T-bird.

My brother saw this thing sitting on a car lot.  It was at the new Buick/GMC dealer.  I can't imagine why they put it on the lot. anyway it's mine now.  No brakes.  Very original.  Interior is horrible from sun damage, just horrible.

aside from the paint issues, the body appears to be in really good shape.

It's not beat up, and nothing is broken.  Got some rust here and there, but underneath it seems to be fine.   I am going to put it on the lift and really look at it.  Tempted to fix it.

The odometer is showing 166,000 but everything is original including the shocks and struts.  It's optioned just like my car, except it has a sunroof and it no equalizer.  Still has an original radio.  I did not know anybody had a TC without the equalizer.

Looks like a nice find.

I am secretly envious. I have been (kind of) looking for a parts car, looks like this one fell into your lap.

If you wouldn’t mind—what did this one set you back?

Great find! I agree, maybe work on getting this one back on the road...?
Another proud dues-paying member.

1987 Turbo Coupe w/T5OD, 8.8 axle, grey smoke; most options. Got it in 1991 with 41K miles: 3 turbos, 2 heater cores, 3 T5OD full rebuilds, 6 clutches, 1 head gasket, 2 Teves II ABS units, etc. later....

Where was this located and why not fix it up?
Publicity, fame and accolades can make a theory popular. They can't make it true.

It was in Bristol, Virginia. I am daily driving a low mileage TC so this one is just a sort of backup plan.

It was $1200.

Well, I fixed the brakes (pump relay), so now it's getting confusing.  It's now drivable, and everything on it works.  I put it on the lift and the rear axle control arm bushings are terrible, but everything else is okay.  They had pretty good rustproofing.  It's pretty clean underneath to look so terrible on top.
