Phil thinks he has the clutch fork/ clutch "chirp" problem solved

My '88 TC clutch is being redone along with the rear main seal (and new springs!) by Phil Caron, a new, very careful mechanic here in CT. He usually works on quirky Citroens. This is the first time he worked on a Turbo Coupe. I gave him a copy of one of the NATO conversations on how a new clutch will "chirp" constantly. I insisted on Ford parts to keep that problem from occurring. He does not think the problem is from what brand of parts you use. He thinks it is from a piece of metal behind the clutch fork which acts as a spring. This piece of metal was just riveted on--not welded. Over time, the rivets fail, and it causes the noise. He riveted the piece on, and thinks this will solve the problem. He made a little video below:

Unfortunately I believe he's incorrect. My clutch fork had the spring cracked on it. I ordered a 5.0 mustang fork from the ford dealer because the correct fork is obsolete. We drilled out the spring from the 5.0 and welded it on to the original fork on my bird. My clutch still chirps each time I depress it.

Check the following link/thread. It will fix the annoying chirp. I've been using one in my hydraulic clutch setup and it hasn't made a signal chirp in two years.
