EEP!!!
i went to my local ford dealer because no one else around here carry's motorcraft.. Spent $175 on Plugs wires rotor cap and i know i got ripped.... but what can i say.. i changed the oil the other night ... day after i drove my car to work and .. poof when i pulled up to stop my car.. it started spewing antifreeze under the hood and in the car.. well now it is only in the car.. i think my heater core blew up... [Image: frown.gif] but.. is there a way to bypass the heatercore safely till i can get the $375 to get it fixed? Also .. does anyone know any good place to get reasonable prices for parts in the indiana/Indianapolis area... its kinda hard.. i have a ford dealer..but they like there money.. and they want to much for there parts.. ive got a 24 hr autozone(employee's are idiots) and Advance Auto Parts(good Employee's) so.. i have the basics.. any ideas? Also .. i have a Tensioner with bad bearings and an exhaust leak.. so much for no problems with the car... :0

Advance Auto in my area carries or can get the Motorcraft plug wires. I generally use NATA's Echlon cap and rotor and NAPA has the Autolite #764 copper plugs.
Yes you can by pass the heater core safely except for frost bite [Image: biggrin.gif]
The tensioner bearing nosie is probably the wheel. It can be changed seperatly from the tensioner itself. Even Autozone has the wheels, about $12.
Get a good heater core. Don't get the discount brand. You might do the install your self and save some $$. There are plenty of past posts on it.
Where is the exhaust leak?

Just get a section of heater hose and connect it between the two pipes that would normally have individual hoses going to the Heater Core at the firewall.

Yuck...!! I hate the smell of that shit.
24hr AutoZone? You a west-sider?
As for Motorcraft stuff...try Carberator-Exchange..they're on Shelby I think..probably a bit better pricing than the dealer..that's where I usually go if I HAVE to have Motorcraft.
I've had decent luck w/ my PepBoys heater cores..(knock on wood) and I've had to replace on in every Tbird/Cougar I've had.
They guys have covered the heater-core bypass, so I won't go over that again.
It's gonna be a bit cold here in a couple days to go w/o heat [Image: eek.gif]!!

$175??? Boy, did you get ripped. Here, wires from the dealer (WR-4011C) are $40 a set, cap/rotor are about $10, and plugs about $2 each.
