Well my car cost me about $150, but there were things that made it that way
1: I only paid for the basecoat
2: I painted it in my school and I painted it
3: I didn’t pay for anything else
I am now working at Glassboro Body Shop and a few months ago I was quoted at 1800 fopr a complete repaint.
My paint was peeling off the hood roof, trunk, top of fenders and top of doors, I was gona just have the car feather edged (smoothed out, and scuffed and lay the paint on, no dents taken out or anything.
I have a pictures on the repaint on my website

What I planned on at school was a quick repaint, just fix some dents and dings
Well we started but ended up straighten allot, fixing the cracks in my bumpers, but since we are beginners at this and my car was dull painted we missed a few dings on my hood and roof, but the car looks great,
I used Dupont ChromaBase and Muti-Purpose ChromaClear. There is also Diamont and Sikkens and PPG, you local Auto paint store can recommend what hey think is the best type.
Price is all on the work behind it. It can be a quick job for 800 and have most of the dents taken out, and can be perfect in every way and they would be disassembling most of the car to do this, and be PERFECT for around 4000+ the custom color if you have custom done.
It also goes for the purpose of the paint, durability, shine or cost.
The area you live in change some things and the type of car will change some
Right now in school we are repainting a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria Police car.
It was white, but we are repainting it in jet black. It gonna be used as show car for community policing. Right now the doors are off and guttted, the fenders, hood, trunk and bumpers are off and being cut in seprately form the car. so ther is no white at all on the car, We will then paitned the car and clear it, and sand it done with 2000 grit and rub it out to make a perfectly smooth finish. This all will cost around 3-4000 dallors at a usual body shop.
The last one we got done is now has graphics on the side and tinted windows wheels etc. etc., we are being recognized in the local papers for it
