PA Performance 130 amp 3g Loud?

When idling, the alternator is making the most noise in the engine bay. It's hard to describe the sound, but it's definately not bearing related... I would guess that it would be from the brushes. I'm curious as this alternator had the 'pin' installed to keep the brushes from making contact, it was quiet when the pin was in, since I didn't know about it (oversight on PA for leaving it in), however it also didn't put out anything Wink

Anyone with a PA 130 amp 3g care to comment on the sound level? I would think it should be relatively quiet, but I'm not sure. I woould like some feedback before I contact PA.
