Overhead Console Removal

Hi, folks.  I'm getting ready to do quite a bit of welding in the interior of the Bird.  I want to remove the headliner before I do.  However, I'd like a consult before I try to remove the map lights/overhead console.  The shop manual says to put a small screwdriver in the slot at the rear of the map light and pull down the edge.  Problem is that the only slot I see is at the front of the light.  If you look at the photo, you can see a small recess at the front of the light bezel that I assume is for prying.  I don't want to break the thing.  If anyone has pointers, I'd appreciate it.

I don't recall which side but they do come out pretty easily. It should be the side that doesn't push in to turn the lights on/off.
