Overfilled the oil

Yeah!

Is it possible I could have something just randomly 'opening' to allow a leak while driving and then sealing up?

My car has been undercoated since new and it's hard to really tell if anything is spraying out the back.

If it was leaking it would often get blown back onto the bellhousing/trans.
