Well before I had replaced the cts in my car it used to take about 5 minutes to start, and if it didn't I could still keep cranking the engine until it would.
Now that i've put a new cts in, it starts right as an engine should.
My problem though.. So if I let off the key too early and the car doesn't start I am SOL because the battery dies it will do a half crank then take a dump, so I only get one real shot to start the car.
I'm just wondering what a cause of this could be.. I used to be able to keep it turning over for up to half a minute before any sign of getting tiresome showed. Not a huge issue.. But it is annoying to pull out the jumpers once in a while..
Thanks

Weak battery, maybe alternator problem
Dirty connections or bad cables and I don't mean just at the battery. List of grounds here. Don't forget the starter connection

What Pete said. I had the exact same problem until I replaced the alternator. The cranking will weaken your battery, and if it doesn't start the alternator can't charge it. Perhaps your alternator doesn't kick in until it reaches a certain RPM?

Perhaps.
I'll poke around the grounds and connections, I think i'm going to get a new alternator.. A nice chrome one.
I'm thinking I should probably get a 140 amp one though instead of a 100 amp alternator because I am running 2 subs with an amp that suck up a ton of juice..
Or would the 100amp alternator be alright?
$130 vs $240..

upgrade. the 130-140 amp solves a TON of small issues with these cars. youll be surprised how well it runs, how well the lights work, the radio, the seats, everything just works better.

Agreed..... just be sure to upgrade the alt output wiring or you will burn up the car, as it was barely good enough for the stock 75 A alt.

Is that just the wire that runs from the alt to the first splice then?
