Oil Supply Line For Turbo

i've replaced my oil line that runs from the turbo around the crank case to some little bell looking thing. I've replaced this line 3 times already. First time the line snapped in half. Second time the flange that fits into crankcase broke. Now its leaking again and i have tightened it untill it wont go any further. What can I do? I'm ready for a steel braided line if applicable.

Are you talking the supply line, that feeds into the top of the turbo or the oil return line that bolts to the bottom of the turbo

Chuck "leaking at the flange" do you mean it's leaking at the 6 side manifold that screws into the head? If that's the case, it may be that the oil line got cross threaded into the bottom hole. Not hard to do in the cramped working area. The threads in the manifold may be messed up. If that's the case let me know I probably have a couple laying around. I would say you would want to make sure, no matter what kind of line you use

try this:


or, if you are either impatient or cheap ( i'm both) contact some plumbing supply stores for teflon braided stainless steel lines size -4an, hose ends, and 1/4 inch (i believe someone correct me) pipe to 4an fittings. ahh you can also use hydraulic hose, might be easier to find.
if at first you dont succeed, use a BIGGER TOOL
88'TC black 5spd, polished upper intake/TB, manual fan, cold air intake. waiting for cold to go away and wallet to thicken...

I had mine crack and replaced it with braided line. I took the old hard line to a hydrualic shop and they hooked me up for about 30 bucks.

would a steel braided line be my best choice if i was to just say screw it with the stainless steel line. No matter how many times the line is replaced it still leaks overtime.

A lot of people use braided lines. Be sure to check your fittings to make sure they aren't the leak problem
