Oil pan gasket and seal

I have an oil leak and it looks like it is coming from the oil pan front seal. I already replaced the crank, aux, and cam seals, along with VC Gaskets.

1. How hard is it to do the front oil pan seal? Can you take out most of the bolts and just replace the seal or does doing that ruin the gasket?

2. I heard you have to take the motor mount bolts off and lift the engine. Any tips on that?

3. I know I will catch heat for this BUT will a silicon seal work if the areas are clean enough?

Thanks

I don't know about clearences in a Stang. In the TCs (87-88) it is possible to drop the pan with the engine in the car according to the Ford Sevice Manual, I haven't done it.

You might want to make sure it not the head or the the passenger side Thermostat housing bolt thats leaking first.

Not sure about the earlier turbo engines. The 88s had a one piece rubber oil pan gasket, so the whole thing would have to be replaced.

Using silicon in place of a gasket or section of gasket is not going to work at all or if it does it probably won't last long. You could end up with an even bigger leak.
