oil oil everywhere

Ok, I may not be able to get my new block in by Carlisle, so I have to try to solve this problem..... Basically I got oil squirting out of my dipstick tube. It is worse when the turbo is boosting. BUT, the pcv valve is working fine and it is the motorcraft unit. Also, It doesn't burn any oil. Is there anything else that would be causing pressure to build up like that in the crank case? This problem has been with me for some time now and I can't drive the car as much as I would like to. Right now I have to drive my big POS Daytona (which I hate with a passion).

If it still blows oil out the dipstick even without any boost at all, I would suspect bad rings. I suppose it is possible to have shot compression rings and a good oil ring, which would combine not much oil burning with lots of blow by.

Back to the PCV though... Is it possible that even the Ford EV127A PCV valve isnt sealing? I put a one way valve in the PCV line to eliminate any possibility of boost backing up into the crank case even if the PCV valve doesnt seal fully. (This wasnt my idea... got the info over on turboford). I got a brake booster check valve for a 93 Villager minivan, part# F3XY-2365-A. It cost me $8 from a local LM dealer. I put it in the hose between the PCV valve and the upper intake. The valve is small, and fits the hose perfectly.

I know it's a simple thing, but have you cleaned out the breather on top of the valve cover?

I did check and clean the breather. I was thinking that my problem was due to bad rings. With 170,000 miles on the motor I would definitely not rule it out. I have a compression tester at my mothers house so I guess I'll have to check that out too. I guess I'll have to speed up my block rebuild. This is going to be tight trying to get it done by Carlisle without any cash. Oh, I do take donations by the way [Image: biggrin.gif].

Brian, besides the compression check you might want to check the hoses on either side of the pCV valve. I have heard they can become clogged also which would allow pressure to build up in the crankcase. Same with the fitting on the upper intake that the upper pcv hose connects to and the oil seperator in the block that the lower pcv hose connect to.
