Decided to tackle the oil leak I have had where the aftermarket OP gauge tubing connects to the T I made off the oil pressure manifold. Ihave done this thing several time with no luck. To boot, on the first test drive I had a senior moment and forgot to put the dipstick back in the tube so I now have more oil in the engine compartment than before I started [Image: frown.gif] It stiull leaking and I 've decided I have the wrong hardware for both types of compression fittings I've tried. (I never met a compression fitting that liked me [Image: biggrin.gif]). I also put the Bosch BPV back in the car and it doesn't hold boost.
Maybe I'll just pick up a Bailey in Essex England next month and save the shipping!!
Tomorrow I'll be looking for the correct hardware to fix the oil leak.

So, you must be going to England anyway - right? Q about the dip stick tube - does it really just "rest" in the block? All other motors I've ever worked on, the dipstick tube is more "press-fit" into the block.

Steve the couple of tubes I played with basically slip into the block loosely, there is no interference fit. They may have originally been interference fit ????, but once they come out then they are loose. The only thing that secures them is the bracket set up that attacthed to the lower intake. I've tried expnading the tube but I only had a punch and it only worked on the very enc of the tube and that just doesn't do any good.
The wife booked the trip yesterday. Turn out that a place that sells Bailey valves is in Essex which is close to London. I think it was Anthony that posted this link: http://www.burtonpower.com/system/index.html

Thanks for the feedback guys. Makes me wonder if Lucas was the electrical systems supplier for Jag, that got them such a reputation for poor quality in the 80s. The Ford plants where I worked, the plant manger had a couple Jag lease cars. They covered a lot of miles---- on a flatbed car hauler.
