ive nevere had a problem with oil leaking in this car but just yesterday i noticed a puddle of oil under my car, it leaks constantly when its running, the oil is coming from the drivers side of the motor but i cant see exactly where. its not a small leak ethier probably loose a quart in a half hour of driving. any how i was wonder if theres any common places where oil leaks from.

Oil cooler comes to mind. Either that or the oil filter is loose.

Oil sending unit is drivers side rear at the top of the side of the head. See picture.

Besides the oil filter, oil cooler and oil pressure sending unit. the turbo supply line connects to the bottom of the supply manifold that the gauge sending unit screws into. The supply lines have beenknown to crack. It's going to be hard to see. You may want to put the front end on jack stands and look from underneath. All safety precaustions apply.

Sometimes when the OP sending units start to fail, they read lower and lower over time. I've seen one read zero when it failed. You can try taking the electrical connector on and off a few times, maybe the connection is dirty.

To get a sense of the joy of changing one read this: http://natomessageboard.com/Forum1/HTML/013680.html

It really sounds like your turbos oil feed line. I had mine crack on me a month back and when it did, oh boy did i lose ALOT of oil VERY quick. To see if it is the feed line, jack up the car and make sure it is secure and safe. Next start the car and crawl in head first under the drivers side coming from behind the rf tire. Oh yeah bring a flash light. It sounds like you were leaking as bad as i was so just follow the drips. If it is leakng out of a thin silver metal tube connected to a hex post coming out of the drivers side of the block, it is your feed line. Now the fun will begin. I highly recomend that you go out and buy a set of crows feet bits for your socket wrench. If you just want to buy one, it is a 7/16. From here, you will need to spend time and find the best angle to get it unscrewed. To get the other end off, remove your intercooler and it will be visable right away. As for a replacement, i went the NOS route. From my local Ford dealer the part cost 18.50 or so with tax. It looked to be bent wrong and was a pain to get on, but it did and it is working. Another route, which i wish i would have done, it to go to summit racing (or somthing simular) and buy a nice steel braided line. I would think two feet or so shoul do the trick. Anyways, if it is your feedline get ready to spend alot of quality time with your turbobird and the ground, or maybe i was doin it wrong?
