after I played with some things under the car it seems as if I developed a bigger oil leak. is there an oil galley plug above the hole for the dipstick?

There is a galley plug between 2 & 3" above the dipstick hole. I can't assert that it's an oil galley plug but it's close to where the oil supply galley to the head rises up the block.

Brian,

Did you check to make sure you didn't leave that screwdriver in the oil filter? [Image: biggrin.gif]

It could also be the oil sending unit / turbo supply line.
