Hey guys, last night I was driving the tbird and got about 2 blocks from my house when I saw steam coming from the hood scoops. I popped the hood, but it was too dark to see anything so I checked it out this morning. I found that the little hose that connects the water line from the turbo to the water line that runs alongside the valve cover has a tiny slit in it. It's the approximately 3 inch orange rubbery looking hose that appears to be covered with some kind of mesh wrapping. I went to 4 parts stores, two deisel truck supply stores, and then the Ford dealership to no avail trying to find this simple little piece of hose. I assume that it's high heat since it's so close to the turbo and exhaust manifold, and apparently it's high pressure since mine has burst out the side. Since I can't get this little hose anywhere, I was wondering what you guys would substitute for it. I'm not going to substitute it, I called my brother who has 2 parts cars and got the hose from him. I didn't do this in the first place because it's a 2 hour drive to his house to pick it up, but I just ran out of options. So, what would you guys suggest if anyone else, or myself, ever runs into this problem again? Thanks for the thoughts.

For now, just use a piece of fuel line, but dont use that as a permanant replacement.
Either get one from Mike as Eric suggests, or buy a foot or 2 of Silicone hose from a place like hosetechniques.com (I think that is the correct URL), and then you will have enough hose to replace them every year for the next 10 years! This is what I did.

Id go with Jeff's idea, I have done this, and even used the fuel hose for an oil feed line to my turbo, when I was in a pinch. But its no permanent solution.

Thanks for the links to sites, guys. But I was really looking for something that I could just get over the counter from a parts store that could be used for the turbo coolant hose. *Read: I need it today.* I'll use the parts car piece and be on my way! Thanks again.

FWIW Transmission oil cooler hose has been on both of my turbo water lines for 3 years with NO signs of deteriorating.

I've successfully used stainless steel braided line for both water feed and return. Added bonus - it looks nice, too.
