I have a 1984 TC and am installing a new O2 sensor. The harness to the sensor has 4 wires while the O2 sensor has only 3. It appears that the orange wire used to be attached paired with one of the other wires. Can anyone tell me which wire it goes with?

Was your 84 originally equipped with a heated O2 sensor or a non heated O2 sensor? Non heated have 2 wires and heated have 4 wires.

If you have a 2 wire sensor I THINK you may be able to use a heated O2 (4 wire} and only use the 2 sensor wires. Better yet, use a more modern heated O2 sensor that responds faster than the 2 wire sensor during warm up. . Simply power up the sensor heater from a key on power source after start up.
