welp the problem is not fixed.run car hard and then shift at 5 grand and next gear feels like u blew off a IC but u pull over and look and everything is fine,u run car hard again and same thing happens and then 30 seconds later it clears up.so i though maybe weak spring so i tryed reving and holding car at 5 grand to see if vac gauge jumped around but it stayed at 22 and didnt move.we all know what it feels and sounds like when we blow off a IC hose, imagine when ur drivin car hard and you shift gear and that happens but all hoses are fine and intact after u pull over and check, what do ya wonder...motor is rebuilt with only 7500 miles. is there any other way to check for springs? also could this be in any way ignition related? i have new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, all motorcraft...when l start my car in mourning and its about 30 degrees u can hear it missing a little, i think...its like a little poping noise, not loud or anything...what else do u guys think?

How does it run when not winding it up to 5000+ RPM? The fact that is seems to take so long for the problem to clear up leads me to think you have HLAs pumping up and hanging the valves open.

I agree with Jeff. I think one or more lifters are pumping up. What, if any, work or new parts are in the head now? Was it recently rebuilt?
