The light green/yellow wire at the ABS computer is simply a ground. Make sure it is getting a good ground.

Also check to make sure that the grey/yellow wire at the ABS computer is seeing a positive 12 volts when the ignition key is ON.

i double checked to make sure. It is a grey wire with a yellow stripe. That wire supplies the ABS computer with +12 volts from a fuse link. If you don't have that wire at the ABS module, that would explain no ABS operation and the lamp being on and unable to retrieve any trouble codes.

The grey/yellow wire should be in the Pin 18 slot at the ABS wire harness. It is possible the colors are slighty a bit off in shade. Maybe it's me, but not all Ford colors are 100% true to my eyes.

Where is the fuel smell coming from? Under the hood or near the fuel tank?

Common leak points under the hood would be the tops of the injector bodies (brown plastic). Over time, they can develop leaks that only replacing the injector can resolve. It is possible that the top "O" ring between the injector top and fuel rail have a developed a leak, which can be fixed with an "O" ring kit. It's not always easy to see exactly which of the two problems you have in either of those two cases. Turn the key to ON and look at each injector top to see any small fuel leak.

If the smell is towards the fuel tank, the supply and return fuel lines that are a part of the fuel pump assembly mount for the fuel tank are prone to rusting and leaking. i'd think you would see some fuel on the ground or on the side of the tank if you had a leak there.

im not sure where it is comig from. but i havnt seen any leaks on the ground. should the injecters be able to move in there palce? b/c i was able to spin one of them? i will have to take a better in depth look at the injecters. but they all look very clean. i really appreciate your help. and i wil get back to you about the grey and yellow wire. thanks

Also check the fuel pulse dampener for any external leakage, which has also been a leak point for other people. See picture in link below for the location: http://www.tbirdheritage.com/misc/fueldampener.jpg
