I've never driven my newly acquired '88 TC (less than 4k original miles) at night, but I noticed that the instrument cluster lights do not work with the dimmer/interior light dial. Also, the interior lights come on at two different intervals while rotating the dial. I've replaced the 5 amp fuse but that didn't help. Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks.

Not uncommon for the rheostat that controls the dash lights brightness to get dirty, corroded, etc. Pull the light switch and check the rheostat "coil" (the resistance wire) and the sliding contact for damage, corrosion, etc. Spray electrical contact cleaner on the coil and sliding contact and rotate the dimmer wheel thru its range several times. Repeat this process a few times. Plug the light switch back into the harness and see if the dash lights work.
