I have not posted in such a long time that I almost forgot how. I have been so busy ever since my wife announced that we will be having our first child in January 04'! I finally have the bird' running and was able to drive to to the shop and have it dyno'd. Unfortunately, it would lean out under boost and we were only able to boost to about 6 - 8 lbs for the dyno pulls. The good news is that it showed 175 HP at the flywheel even though it was set at less than factory boost! That is a 35 HP gain over factory. I bought an FMU that should eliminate the lean problem. The other thing I am concerned about is the overboost light and buzzer comes on sometimes. Is the overboost of function of the Air/Fuel mixture?

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS on the baby! Looks like he / she will have one heck of a nice car to come home from the hospital in [Image: wink.gif]

Now, if you're leaning out with as little as 10psi of boost, you've got other problems with the car that need attention. What is your fuel pressure with the reference line disconnected? What about under boost (if you have a gauge with a long enough hose)?

Are you stil running the 30pph injectors with the stock computer and VAM?

All 2.3 EEC's were designed to handle boost, so adding a variable rate FMU into the equation can REALLY screw things up. Mustang guys only use them as a type of patch with their low-boost setups. On a TC with even a mild boost setting of 18psi, the lowest FMU riser rate disc I've seen at 6:1 would increase fuel pressure by *108*psi, in ADDITION to the base fuel pressure of ~40psi. Not only can this cause some serious damage to your injectors, but I don't think your fuel pump will be happy either.

Congratulations! I have a 13 month old and let me tell you you just lost all your free time. I wouldn't trade it for naything.

Do you have a 255lph in tank pump? The Kirban will help but it will also cause the pump to hit its limit easier with the added pressure.

Congrats to you too Glenn, I realize time will no longer be mine, as well as no more money for the bird', oh well!

I have a dual fuel pump system on the 84, the one in the tank is attached to the sending unit and there is another one on the rail. They are both new, but they are factory. I was told it would not be possible to use a 255. True?

Congrats on the soon-to-be little one! January is right around the corner!

I agree - Free time will be consumed with things you can't even imagine right now. I have 5 (five) children, and one on the way (due mid-october), and I would not trade ANY of my children for ANYTHING! The more kids you have, the easier it is as a parent - you have more bigger hands to help with the smaller hands.

Good luck with everything!
Keith

hundred with ignition trouble.
