i know i have read about this problem before but the new search function leaves a lot to be desired.

was running fine. parked for a couple days and no start, no fire. cranks but doesn't have fire to the plugs. cooling fan stays on when ignition switch is on now too. first time that has happened. changed IRCM, checked TFI and it passed. getting power to the TFI through the harness. that's as far as i've gotten so far. anybody?

Check if the PIP is sending out a signal, the info on how to test it is located in the FAQ section. If you dont have a 12V led for the test you can listen for the fuel pump to run while you are cranking. The fuel pump will only run if the ECM gets a signal from the PIP. I would also take a look at your igntion switch to see if it is falling apart.

ok....tried a remanufactured distributor with new PIP and ignition module. tried 4 different IRCM's, 2 coils. coil is getting power from ignition switch and fuel pressure is correct. still no fire to the plug. also, the cooling fan staying on when the ignition switch is on is puzzling. only started that when i tried to start it and no fire...

Cooling fan on with key on along with the no start could be either a bad PCM ground or failed PCM.

that's what i was afraid of. i already sanded the spot where the ground next to the PCM is located. anything else i should look at before i get another PCM?

Open it up and have a look..... not uncommon for some of the electrolytic caps to fail. They will likely be oozing out fluid. They can be replaced. Remember the PCM has 12V applied to it all the time to keep the adaptives like fuel trim, etc.
