Check it out. These aint no cheap $39 'racing seats' ... oh no, this is MUCH more appropriate for the Thunderbird.

2003 Acura TL Type S
HEATED
POWERED
black leather
-w- memory !!

Got em on ebay for $225 ...

The seller has lotsa things like this for similar prices. In this case I had no competing bidders ... so I put my bid in at the last minute and snagged em.

Installation shouldn't be too hard. I can make them fit. Might have to drill some holes and weld in some stiffening plates, but that'll be easy.

I picked the acura seats, cuz the power controls are all on the seats sides, and I'm fairly certain the seat heaters don't require any special modules to control them, ie: no $$$ extra stuff to buy.

Other seats that are like this are any of GM's offerings-- I think they're all self contained too.

Beware VW/Audi seats. They ride on special rails that often aren't included, you'll end up with a nice expensive seat that has no boltholes for mounting, and the seat heater module is a "comfort control" module that costs $250-$350 all on it's own. Then there's the wiring and the switches ... forget that. Wayyy too expensive. I wanted them from a Passat, but after seeing this it just seems too difficult.

Lexus makes some nice seats too, same with Volvo.

Will take pics of the install + new black carpeting. Can't wait!

They are pretty sharp, especially for the money.. but there's no way I would give up the slide out seat bottom to support my long legs. That is the best feature of the Tbird seats.

If I ever upgrade the seats, that feature will be a requirement.. (Recaros have it on most of thier seats)

Jesse.. see the black bar on the front of your seats? pull it up then out towards the dash and that front section of seat will pull out several inches (adjustable) so the seat bottom is longer.

It feels great to have support under your legs out by your knees~

I've got my seat bottom set so that the rear is all the way down, the front is all the way up and the pull out section is almost fully extended. Fits my bottom end like a glove Smile

UPDATE:

Picked up the seats from the auto recycler after they were "shuttled" to the nearest location, which was about a 5 hour drive round trip.

In a word: Awesome

Not only are they like new and devoid of any cigarette smells or .. as I feared .. passenger bodily fluids resulting from the car being wrecked ...

They have side airbags. Intact. The modules from which I can definitely sell on ebay.

They look great Eric.. Can't wait to see a picture of them in your car~

I'm interested to see how you mate them up to the factory base or if the bases on them will work with modifications.
