Not a lot. It's the stock class so he's very limited on what he can do. Mentioned he can't even use the k&n cone. Stock IHI but appearently can use aftermarket boost control. Also can mod the exhaust from turbo back.

Sounds like it basically comes down to getting it running smooth, launching perfectly and getting it to grip.

I bet he ahs more money in that engine than anyone on this site. The cam is custom. It must retain stock lift but the duration can be changed any way. The whole bottom end is most likely blue printed, balanced and built toi etremely close specs. This car, in order to run ther mid 13 times for the record, will need to make over 290rwhp with no porting and all stock parts.

Hey guys, I will try and shed some light on the whole NHRA stocker thing. The engine parts has to be year matching for the year of car you are claiming that it is. There is an engine classification sheet that for that particular year states what the casting numbers for the intake manifold, cylinder head, and if it is carburated the OEM part number for it. I believe it is the same for the fuel injected cars as well for the throttle body. The sheet also states what the maximum lift is, the valve sizes, and how much the piston is above or below the deck. The current clutch being used is a slider style, meaning a sintered iron clutch disc, all light weight aluminum flywheel, aluminum pressure plate ring W/steel insert. Jerico dog ring style transmissions with an inline shifter, meaning push pull shifting, no H pattern. In this class we also gear for max RPM in the lights. You have to buzz the living crap out of a stocker to get the best ET. These cars are limited by airflow and valve springs. The rear tire size is a maximum of 9" X 30" slick. This is fairly hard to get into a fox body car let alone most late models, but you are alowed to open the lower trailing edges of the rear wheel openings a total of 2". Weight is a big enemy on these cars so the tires and wheels are super light weight. Everything in the car is deleted that does not need to be there, yet the stock interior has to be in place Its amazing how much trouble goes into trying to find front K members from other years of the same car but may weigh 5 to 20lbs less that what came in the car you have. Most people have weight bars in the rear of the car to make minimum weight for the class that they are racing in, and to aid in weight transfer and traction. Sean
