Hello everyone, Well I finally registered here after a number of years of just hanging around.

I would like to say thanks to Jeff and everyone else that keeps this forum alive, so thank you!

I should say this now just in case I mess up the first post... I’m not the best at all the social media stuff or even typing for that matter so please don’t ever be offended if  I’m slow to respond or sound like an idiot.. lol ?

Now a bit about the TC,  I’ve had my turbo coupe since 1990 when I bought it from the dealership I was working at as a service technician in Oakville.

The original owner traded it in for a new Lincoln after the TC came in on the hook the for overheating which was the infamous dash voltage regulator. Not a very serious issue for us Tbird owners now but back then for a new car it was a problem for the owners peace of mind.
He even had warranty esp total 6 years 100,000 km bumper to bumper $25 deductible which was transferable...that was a bit of a bonus with car.

I really liked the turbo coupes and it was always a bit of a treat when a fresh TC would come into the shop and I’d get to do a PDI and road test.

This Bird  was on the lot and sitting up on the elevated stand at the dealership for sale, so I took it down from there and 32 years later it’s still here.

Btw , started going out with the wife the same year and she’s still here too. So when sometimes the TC is in the way and I get a complaint as “you hardly drive it and should sell it..”. It goes something like  “but hunny I think you both came as package “ , which doesn’t usually go over too well...
Although I really must say she’s been pretty patient over the years , given her car was outside in the snow and the cold sometimes.

It has been a good car and is in pretty good shape, the pictures were taken last spring after the snow melted.

Yes it’s an automatic which is okay with me. If I was to spec it out , most likely it would be a standard as I do like the 5 speeds since they can be way more fun to drive on the open road and suits the turbo 4.

The auto has been good,  trouble free ( besides servicing fluids and filters) and still has crisp shifts even with having enjoyed a full 18 lbs of boost , added the factory dual exhaust , boost controller removed , mustang /ranger roller cam , bored .030 over , and some light head work done, since 1993. And not to forget a over zealous 20 something year old driver?

Anyways I’ve rambled on enough,
Glad to be here,

Rod

That's a great looking car and I love the story that goes with it. Often times I find I like the stories most of all.

Hi everyone,

thank you for the kind words and welcome, it’s very much appreciated!

I’ve probably gained more knowledge from this forum over the years than I could ever give back,

but you’re welcome to some sketchy advice now and again... just kidding,

anyways, always happy to help if I can. ?

Cheers,
Rod
