Hey guys, just had a simple question on transmissions. I was going to get mine rebuilt. Whats the best route? Should I get a whole new transmission? Just a heads up, I know nothing about transmissions. Thanks for the help.

Is it a 5 speed or an auto?
If 5 speed, it is a non-WC (non World Class)
You could upgrade to a later WC T5 from a TC (or an T5 from an NA 4 cyl Mustang. May be slight ratio differences. See link for more info http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/T5ID.htm
It might be cheaper to find a T5 out of an NA 2.3 Mustang than having one rebuilt. If you decide to go the rebuild route, check with Bob Hanlon,

Is it possible to have mine rebuilt with parts from Ford Racing from an 86 SVO?

The '86 SVO gear ratios are different but all the other hardware should work. There should be metal tag on the trans., possibly at the rear housing extension. Get that number and check with Hanlon.
The later 2.3 T5s (NA and turbo) have a little different ratio but not enough to make a real difference. The SVO gears are quite a bit different.

Yea, I wanted the gear ratio from the SVO. Is this all I would need? http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail...toview=sku
