The welder is a must. After a short while, you'll wonder what you did without one! Do you have any projects in mind that you need it for?

Yessir I sure do - Both the Mustang and Styline will be requiring a welder to fix various body panels, and in the case of the Chebby, the floor as well. That's the main reason I got it. I'm not trying to tackle any exterior body panels until I can get lots of practice on that thin metal.

At the moment I'm using it to fab up a new bracket that will hold the radiator and the new MN12 cooling fan that's going to replace the stocker. I also need to weld the O2 bung to my exhaust, as well as some hangers so I can get rid of the crappy universal hangers that are on there now.

I have all sorts of projects that I want to tackle on the cars in addition to what I already mentioned. Lots of stuff I want to do in various engine compartments, like filling in all of the useless, ugly holes in the inner fenders, etc.

that's a great weld for a beginner, you should be proud. i know some career welders that couldn't put together a bead that clean before taking classes, but after owning a welder for more than a couple years.. with not much practice and learning how the settings effect wire speed vs voltage, you should definitely be laying out some very nice, perfect welds
87 TC: 5spd, started B234F head swap (overall setup changing), Quarterhorse, T3/T4 63 a/r, 3" exhaust, walbro 255, tubular front clip, 5 lug swap, 17x8 front/17x9 rear cobra r's, wilwood 4 piston calipers (rear only, for now), lightened 471lbs so far

A tip for you if your going to try to weld up those holes. Some welding supply stores may carry copper backing, you can also look online for it. It helps keep you from making those little holes into big holes.
