new to the tc's

i'm new the the thunderbirds but i'm not new to the 2.3t. i've seen some posts and whatnot about the raven interior. i'm just wondering what it really is. how is one supposed to identify it?

Raven is the two tone gray where the light part is recognizable as medium dark gray and the dark is more toward black. The black fades to a very dark blue with age and sunlight.

You can look at the vehicle certification label on the driver's door pillar. Look along the bottom of the label, near the middle for a box marked "int.trim" It will have a 2 character code in it. The first code is for the fabric and seat type, the second letter is color.
In the TCs (87-88) the first letter will be either "B" for cloth seat, "articulated" or F for leather, "articulated". The second letter code will be H for raven.
There is also a separate dark blue interior but on that one the dash is blue. The code is B.

Check the photos in the post by Andrew just below yours. That's a very nice Raven leather trim interior.

ok well i just looked at the label on my 87 and the int. trim says BH but every thing looks blue and gray. it really doesn't look like it might have been black and then faded. also, is the brushed silver dash on all tc's or is that something that someone added?

Especially with the cloth trim, the dark black/blue original Raven turns a lighter blue as it fades with age.

The dash facing plastic looks like brushed metal. That was on all TCs after 1984. Not sure on the 83-84s
