Hey all:

I am just dropping in to say I'm a new Turbo Coupe owner (actually it's my first Ford product.. thus far only had Chevy, Buick, and Dodge).

I picked up an '86 TC with 92k on it for $1100.. runs great! It does need some minor cosmetic work, but it's mechanically sound.

No planned modifications are happening yet, as this is my only car.. but so far its a great runner as it sits.

This forum seems to have a different setup for picture-posting, but I will as soon as I can.

I don't know much about these Fords.. what HP levels will the engine internals/transmission/rear end grenade at? Also, the 1986 is rated at 150 hp from the factory? It certainly doesn't feel like that.. my Charger had about 160 and weighed 2400 lbs, and the T-bird feels quicker.

Also my temperature gauge seems to have a short, as it will periodically creep up for no reason. I'll likely check all of the wiring and connectors first. After all, the wipers didn't park, and it was just a bad ground!

Some help on posting pics here:
http://natomessageboard.com/ultimatebb.p...9;t=000160

The engine can take a lot more power than stock as long as it doesn't run lean. If you want to see the recommended first mods, read this. http://www.turbotbird.com/techinfo/Mods/Mods01.htm
