I got the new shocks but low and behold they are the wrong ones. The fronts had only the post, not the 3 bolts like on the stock, dose it come off and mount up to the new shock or will I have to have a bracket fabed up to replace the stock one. I didn't even try to do the back ones looked like I had to tear out the seat or go through the trunk, I have a massive box with 2 12" subs in there and that was a nightmare getting in, lets just say my trunk no longer stays open on its own.
I should have bout a Chilton or a Hines before I even started this nightmare.

No. The strut brackets do not come off, they are an integral part of the strut. Normal shocks (what it sounds like you got) will not work, you need struts in front.
The rear shock towers are accessed through the trunk. You'll probably need to take out that sub box for access, sorry. No other way.

You better get that manual because it sounds like you need the help. A strut is very different from a shock, a strut has a very large piston and a threaded end at the top, which is what it sounds like you mean by "post" at the top, they don't come with the strut mounting plate with the three bolts though, you can reuse your old ones by undoing the large center bolt or buy some new plates.
Monroe shocks/struts are going to be soft, not so great on the handling, probably ride okay though.
And it's HAYNES not Hines.

Thanks I may just take them back until I find what I really want. I seen else where on the forms that had shocks and struts in it.

My TC came with Monroe struts and they're horrid. I would HIGHLY suggest something else. This thing handles like a lofty boat on the highway... I find myself wishing I had a spare set of good PRC's to put in it every time I drive it.
