hey guys, i just got my new muffler put on today...and man does it sound better than my FLOWMASTER!! now dont get mad!!! i purchased a new APEX HI-Flow "BULLIT" muffler(APEX mufflers are what you would probably see on your local RICH BOY ricers..kinda steep prices)..when APEX says bullit they were not kidding...it is 16 inches long with a 3.5 inch opening!, lol, sound riced yet?? anyway, its chrome and even comes with its own silencer (lol...very riced at this point) but man does it sound great...it gives my turbocoupe an actual GROWL to it...not just an import style "weeeeeeeeen weeeeeeeen" like expected, especially after turbo builds it sounds great. it is located at the back of the car, right infront of the bumber (tip of it sticks out about 2.5 inches..by no means stock muffler location...you should have seen the guys face at the custom exhaust place i went to when he realized i was putting the muffler BEHIND the axel!!) and i had them run a 2.5 inch pipe into it from the cat..custom bent and everything. the first few places i went to said it couldnt be done since the muffler would have to sit between the fuel tank and rear left bumper side.but with a little work it fit great, the tip seems a bit big...but you can hardley see the muffler..so it almost looks like full 3.5 inch!!!lol, anyway...i know this is a step TOWARD the imports, but i had to test it out. ill send pics when i get a chance. anyway i just thought you guys would want to know (maybe some didnt) but there ya go. tell me what you guys think.
oh and if some are still wondering what the muffler looks like..think of it as a small, chrome canon.lol take care guys, and tell me what you think.
later

Hey if you like it...
Nah seriously, the only problem I have ever had with rice exhaust is the nasty pissed bumble bee sound from a garbage car. That being said, if the tone is good, it sounds mean, and you like it, as long as it doesn't detract from the looks of the car...
Glad you found somehing that works for you... [Image: smile.gif]

Do you have any pics? I am going to a school this fall with a lot of ricers and I kinda wanted to put a muffler on like that as a bit of a joke. Since I am poor I may just throw a 3in cat on there for now.

PSI sounds like it may have cost a lot? If you don't mind my asking? I going to have to replace the exhaust soon and I'm going to have to justify the expence to she who must be obeyed in something other than "but honey it'll go so much faster" [Image: smile.gif]Dr Phang since your on a budget why not a folgers coffe can? you don't even have to paint it [Image: wink.gif]

hey guys!, i was by no means bragging about ricing it out, i actually dont like the whole import scene, it gets quit annoying!!!, anyway, i was just letting you know i was trying something different, not to be RICED or anything. i was really just curious to see what it would sound like, and to also replace the slowmaster i had on there. i am by NO means making this car something it isnt (foreign) i am just seeing what else could be different than the usual turbocoupe performance setup. sorry if it seemed like bragging!! take it easy,
