Thanks for the welcomes! I have been bitten by the mod bug before...and the Gillis and K%N were all I was planning to do! But...saw this ad on CL Wisc for a T3, intercooler, piping, braided lines, BOV etc etc from an SVO used twice prior to engine failure for $600...all I would need would be downpipe/injectors/exhaust (that's it!)

I just don't want to spend the money now after just buying the car (for $2K). Anyways Thanks everyone!

I suppose it is near impossible to find OEM floormats and a cover for the center console..I have been looking and not even finding a small lead.

You won't find those parts new. Put an ad in the parts wanted forum.

Here is an article on beginning mods. http://www.turbotbird.com/techinfo/Mods/Mods01.htm

Sharp car!! Finding a cover for the console usually isn't too tough, but finding one with a latch that isn't broken can really be tough.

Welcome. Also in Minneapolis myself and I think I may know who you purchased the bird from.
Publicity, fame and accolades can make a theory popular. They can't make it true.

Cool! It was a very nice guy who I bought it from. Bird needed a bit of engine/exhaust work however (more than I anticipated), but seems to be worth it so far.
The console cover I have is in great shape cosmetically on top but it is cracked where it attaches and only one bolt secures it fully and the other barely. I can glue/tape underneath it to strengthen it up. I also found a slide in cupholder/tray $6 that slides b/t the passenger seat and the console that also works great to reinforce the cover. That was a great find.
Now a little more driving prior to ordering a Gillis and K&N...very beneficial mods as I understand..

Nice looking car! If it needs exhaust work put a good straight through system on it and it will run so much better you will be shocked. That was the single best mod I ever did to my old TC. On my new one it's at the top of the list after I get it on the road.

my 2.5" 'straight-thru' (no cat. or muffler) DID shave nearly a second off my 0-60 and 1/4 mile e.t. ...

BUT it is *Quite Loud* on anything >1/3 throttle
and drone-y at certain speeds e.g. 60-65 lol

(although quiets down near-WOT as the bass bellow is replaced with a turbine whoosh)

I am considering adding a muffler ...
