I think the seat story is BULL$H!T. The 83-85.5 TC's and XR7's have the exact same seats and they made plaenty of those. I have 3 sets in my shed. It's funny how the SVO guys think that all the good stuff was just for their cars when the TC was first and got 90% of the same stuff, and in 87 got better stuff.

WTF! How in the hell did they get 192/280? I read the article just now. (I got the book fresh today) My 87 TC was just dyno'ed at 173/245 with the same mods except no cheesy TB that they put on it and I am boosting at 17psi on a IHI (thank goodness my hybrid stage 2 is here now I can get down to some serious business). Am I missing something in all of this? Where did 19/35 more come from?

A T3. And the fact that they REBUILT THE WHOLE FREAKING ENGINE. That part of the article slipped by me the first time. They put in a new headgasket, oil-pump, and head. What cheese. But they made more with a T3, that's why. That TB is PURE BS. Joe Morgan only runs 9's on a stocker Rolleyes

Yeah I noticed that one too. I didnt think that having the T3 would have made a diffrence like that. First of all why didnt Ford just stay with the T3 in the first place? (Going back to the article I know they had to cut cost or they didnt want the TC and SVO to have way more power that the GT) Plus as I know for a fact that they killed off the TC and the SVO because Ford wanted to use the engines and also kill off the Mustand for the Probe GT which had the turbo egine in it but too many Mustang people complained that they NEVER buy another Ford if they did that. Ford said that americans love their V8's and stuck with making the GT. Imagine what would have happened if they stay with the 2.3 and added a 16v head with our set ups on our cars?

They switched to the T3 because of spool issues. The t3 though more powerful does take longer to spool up. Also you have to take into consideration that the t-bird was to be a "luxury" vehicle. So the IHI would have been a better choice for a luxury vehicle because of it's smoother power and lack of lag even though it's less powerful.

Quicker response in a heavier car is why Ford switched to the IHI for the 87/88 TC's.

Well with the IHI that I have in the car now it doesnt act like its too smooth. It pulls like crazy. I have people in it saying "damn what a diffrence, did you change the turbo" I tell them no but that won't be the case as soon as I get my mechanic of his a** and get the hybrid in.
