I just found this board from cz28.com and decided to take a look. I may not have a tbird now but I've owned three: an '84 Fila tbird, an '88 LX with a 5.0, and an '87 Turbo Coupe.
From what I understand, the '84 Fila was very rare, and it was fully loaded: White leather seats, power everything, and little Fila emblems all over. Too bad it rusted out at 55,000 miles, and it never ran right.
The '88 LX was the nicest one I've owned. Beutiful blue paint, fully loaded, leather, and actually kinda fast. I put a dual exhaust on it and it sounded great. But, I've always liked the Turbo Coupe more, so when I saw one on a dealership lot, the '88 got traded in for a shitbox.
It was bad enough I took it for a test drive and couldn't tell the turbo was blown, everything was shot, too. It leaked oil from the pan and would drip on the exhaust and smoke in traffic. The frame was starting to rot out. The electronic suspension didn't work and was VERY expensive to replace. I spent $3000 dollars on the car and it was still a piece of junk.
So, I went and bought a new car, but I'm sure I'll be here again as an owner, preferebly an '88 red Turbo Coupe.
