I was in pep girls and noticed a company called (I think)Cool-vue made the plastic headlamp lenses supposedly for 300 types of vehicles.Of course ours wasn't in stock.Did anyone else see these and notice if they make them for our Birds and what the cost might be?Seemed like reasonable prices for other car makes.I believe they also make corner lenses.(In the $30 range)I went to their web page but it seemed worthless since it had nothing about lenses on there.Maybe they are building the webpage.

I looked at Pep Girls (hilarious) also and was surprised ours wasn't listed. I called a Ford dealership down in South Jersey and they gave me a price of $55 for each side.

Ya can buy whole new housings on Ebay - a guy sells 'em for I think $150 a pair. Luckily my T-Bird had brand new headlights in it when I bought it [Image: smile.gif]
A bit of elbow grease, some fine (800-grit for first sanding, 1200 to 1600 to finish) wet sandpaper and some polishing compound will do wonders for your existing lenses...

You can't beat new lense housings. Not only are the lenses clear, the reflector area is bright white again. What a difference they make! The dullness of oxidized headlights creeps up on you after a few years. I bought mine online from http://[email protected]/

I called this Kool vue place up but they don't make them for T birds in our years.
Do the lenses only get fogged on the outside or do you have to sand inside somehow too?
I also get water in my headlights.About 1/2 inch at times.I'm thinking about filling them up and putting goldfish in there!

Most of the fogging is on the outside. Polishing can go a long way but nothing matches a new set of lenses. I've done both.
For the water problem the easist fix is to drill a couple small holes in the bottom of the lense

Letting the cat out of the bag is a whole lot easier than putting it back in.

I was getting water inside of mine so I took them off and put silicone around the entire seam of the lens. If you blow inside the lens you should be able to feel where the water is getting inside.

The silicone is a good fix, I also wrap the seam with teflon tape before the silicone cures. Daughters TC had nice clear lenses but had the mosture problem, four years later still no mosture inside. I don't reccomend drilling holes, as the reflectors will deteriate if the lamps are not sealed. Really there ain't nothing like new headlamps.
