Hello Everyone. Quick intro, name is James. First car I ever owned was an 88 TC manual. Sold it back in 99 and wanted it back as soon as I let it go. FF a few years, and I ended up finding one back in 2016 and am now the proud owner (again). Red exterior, red interior, same as I had before. Purchased from original owner, 186k miles with all 28 years of service records. I'm just a tinkerer, so I've been pretty much taking parts off, cleaning them up and putting them back on. Learning a lot as a I go through trial and error. Car was purchased from east coast, so there is a lot of dirt and surface rust underneath, that I usually don't see on vehicles here in the desert.
Funny story, to me anyway, is that I was so excited when the car was delivered that I went online and printed a 30 day tag, called up the insurance company, got the policy, drove to the gas station to top off, then off to emissions. After failing emissions, I drove home with my tail tucked between my legs, thinking great, now what? Put the car in the garage and get ready to tell the wife of my failed mid-life crisis. Then thought, east coast may not have same restrictions, so I go ahead and take a quick peek under the car, and yep, no CAT. Not gonna pass without that in any emissions state. Got one on and passed the following week, but what a roller coaster of emotions that was.
Anyway, glad to be here, hopefully will post some photos of what I've done to the vehicle later and maybe lean on you guys from time to time for help, parts to buy, or just random TC based chatter.
