For those that don't surf TF, I trailered my car to Bristol, TN to race and had fuel starvation issues when launching. I came back home and put more fuel in the car for testing. Here is the copy and paste from TF:
After my launch problem at Bristol, I wanted to see if it was really a fuel pump pickup problem so I proceeded to fill the car to a bit over 3/4 tank and headed to the track last night.
I had no stumbling or AFR lean out issues on the launch this time. Since I had between 1/4 and 1/2 tank at Bristol, I guess that I am launching a bit too hard for the stock tank/baffle setup.
Now for the good stuff...First run, car spun a bit but still did pretty decent with a 7.12 @ 98.5.
Tweaked the tune a little and lowered the slick pressure. Second run, seemed to hook ok but was getting out of shape toward the end and I lifted before the stripe. Still went 7.04 @ 94.0.
Third run, I raised the slick pressure and tweaked the tune again. I guess I pulled too far away from the water box because I could not do a burnout...Looking at the vid, I only turned the tire maybe ten revolutions and no smoke. I thought the run was going to be trashed but it surprised me with a 1.57 60' and a 6.91 @ 98.3 <-- best 1/8th ET to date! http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f92/tu...050f73.jpg
Fourth run, I decided I wanted to try and spray my 50 shot down the track. I did a short burnout, staged and launched holding the N20 button down. The car felt too loose for my liking so I let off the button on the 1-2 shift and then accidently shifted to 3rd before the stripe...duh.
Car still blasted to a 6.77 @ 99.1 with a 1.53 60'! http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f92/tu...30d942.jpg
I really really want to spray the whole way down and see what it does but I guess baby steps first.
Car ran great all night so I guess I either need to sump the factory tank or put a cell in the car. I will get vids posted up later.
