Just a guess, signal relay could be sending little voltage spikes through the instrument cluster circuits. Could be bad relay or a grounding issue.

Any time my speedometer twitched it was low voltage, and I have had mine for over 21 years.

X3 ^^^^^^^^^^

That would alway happen when my voltage regulator was ready to go out, then when driving with it for awhile Id see my clock dim and the fun was over.

I though keep replacing voltage regulators till I fixed and put in new wiring by the junction block, my alternator wire fryed to were even when I used my brakes you'd see everything dim.

My '87 has done the exact same thing for over 10 years now (on mutilple Alt.). I think it is just the inherently bad wiring these cars have.
