My turbo went all to hell on my 88 T/C I took it off and found that the shaft had a lot play. But my main problem is the compressor wheel is pretty eat up. Where can I buy a replacement? I was able to get a rebuild kit on ebay but not able to find a wheel.

Is this the IHI you're talking about? Other than buying a "parts turbo", i don't think you're going to have an easy time finding a wheel if it is an IHI. There is a guy on TF selling a junk IHI right now if that is of any interest to you.

Usually a junk IHI has back and forth play which means the wheel is fubar, Make sure you get close up pics of any used wheel you are planning to buy. Personally I would just do a T3/.48 swap. More power and spools just as fast

Ford used 2 types. The early (83-84..?) cars used an oil cooled only type. Later T3s were oil lubed and engine coolant cooled.
Either is OK, just remember to give the oil cooled only time to cool off after hard use. Let the engine idle for a minute or three.
Some people put in a coolant cooled type and never hook up the coolant lines.

Ok Is there any aftermarket turbos that would work? Like godspeed?
