Anyone have a suggestion? I checked with Tire barn and they have a set of stock size tires for $268.00 + tax. They are 40,000 mile tread life warrentee. I do not want absolute crap tires but cannot spend a bunch for them.

I got 4 225/60/16's at Wal Mart for 280, looks like a pretty good deal, the WalMart tires i believe are made by General.
88 T/C 5speed. 3in.Downpipe,Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers, Gillis valve on the way.

If you have some time you might wanna ckeck a junkyard for a set. When I got my last car painted I went to a JY to look for a cheap set of 4lug wheels to put on my car while it was being painted and I ran across a set of ten holes with almost new tires on them. I only paid $95 for the wheels and tires, so if your budget is real tight that might be something you could check out. In the winter I run Futura tires from Pep Boys which are pretty cheap and dont look too bad.

I just got 4 tires from Tirerack.com in 245/50/16 for less than $250.00 to my door. They were $56.00 each. They are Kumho 711's. Reviews are mixed about these, and I'm sure they arent a 40K mile tire, but they will do until I figure out what I want to be when I grow up [Image: smile.gif] Check them out for some good deals.

I got a set of Khumo 716's and they've been doing great; even in the crappy weather we've been having here in Ohio. Wet performance is good, dry performance is good. They were $55 on tirerack.com

Here in the U.S., Cops tend to frown upon you removing their tires for personal use and/or re-sale...

Just be sure you don't try and remove the tires from any RCMP vehicals ! I also understand the hyd. jacks on those can be a alot to handle [Image: rolleyes.gif]

127k miles in January when I bought it for $200. 138k now. A few mods for more power in the planning. (:

In the 245/50-16 size, I'd recommend the Sumitomo HTR4's especially if you use the car year-round. I've got a set on the Ranger..and I've driven it to South Bend and back on the past two nasty weekends we've had...and I have yet to get stuck. I've also had a set on the XR7 and the old Pace Car...good all around tires. Price is good too.....I think the 225/60-15's for the Ranger were $50 apiece..
