Need new primary radiator fan blade

The primary fan motor failed and got so hot it melted the hub out of the fan blade. I've found new replacement motors but no new fan blades. There some used ones on eBay. Does anyone know of a source for new blades? Thanks.

That’s a tough one. I’m pretty sure our cars (Turbo Coupes) were the only ones with the electric fan setup, a primary and secondary one.

I don’t know if the Turbo Mustangs also offered these, but it’s worth considering.

As far as new, that could be a difficult thing to find. You might have to settle for a good used one.

1987 Turbo Coupe w/T5OD, 8.8 axle, grey smoke; most options. Got it in 1991 with 41K miles: 3 turbos, 2 heater cores, 3 T5OD full rebuilds, 6 clutches, 1 head gasket, 2 Teves II ABS units, etc. later....

For others who might need one someday, it's part E3ZZ8600B (discontinued). It's used on all 1984-1993 2.3L engines. See link below.

It looks like the fan he pulled off of his TC has a part number of E7SE-8600-BA. I'm thinking the fan linked above is for a belt driven set up. I would buy the used ones on the bay.

I believe it's actually for the single electric fan setup.

Since we're talking fans I have a question. Does the dual fan system operate in a staggered fashion? As the car gets warm only one fan runs and then as it gets hotter both fans will run? Or do they both run any time the fan is signaled from the ECU?

Primary is temperature based, the secondary comes on with the AC.

The primary fan will turn on around 200-210F and off around 190F or if the A/C is on. The secondary fan turns on around 220F or if the A/C head pressure is 310 PSI.

JT is 100% correct on the criteria for the primary and secondary fans to turn on.
