I second Kuch’s suggestion—buy from eBay.

I mentioned this a while ago…since 2004 I’ve had a Daily Search set up there that alerts me to new TC listings. You have to tweak it a bit—you can’t just put in “Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe parts”, because of the way eBay works, you’ll get all kinds of irrelevant listings. So, enter that search term and then go through and pick out the irrelevant stuff. Like, say you aren’t interested in advertising or pictures of the car—after the search term put a space and then “-advertising”, a minus sign and what you don’t want to see, without the quotes of course.

This is known as a Boolean search, and tells eBay not to show you things with that word in the title.

I’ve gotten most of the parts in my good-sized inventory this way.

1987 Turbo Coupe w/T5OD, 8.8 axle, grey smoke; most options. Got it in 1991 with 41K miles: 3 turbos, 2 heater cores, 3 T5OD full rebuilds, 6 clutches, 1 head gasket, 2 Teves II ABS units, etc. later....

I have an entire fan setup, shroud, motors, blades and all if you want it for shipping costs. I imagine just the blade would be cheaper to ship but you're welcome to whatever you want off it. Just shoot me a PM

Wow. Thank you, that's super generous. I already ordered a used fan system for a Mustang and believe the blade will fit. If it doesn't work, I'll reach out.

I received a used fan blade from a 87-90 FORD MUSTANG 2.3. The blade required 3/4" to be cut from each blade. Be mindful of maintaining the blade balance. I made a pattern and traced onto each blade and used a band saw to cut them. I don't know if 2.3 Mustangs had dual fans (primary and AC) but if they did, I assume the primary fan would be the correct size.

Also, when my motor went bad and melted the fan blade, it fried the primary fan relay circuit. I removed and tested the fan relay and it was fine but the drive circuit was fried (shorted). They do have aftermarket fan relay controllers (Four Seasons 37511). Fan motors are readably available as well (Four Seasons 35653). Mine did not come with a connector so I bought a Metri-Pack 2-Pin 30 Amp Male & Female 280 Series Connector pigtail from Amazon.

One more thing I noticed. Since I bought the car last fall, whenever the original primary fan motor turned on, my rpm dropped very noticeably (300-400 rpm) on start-up. Obviously a big current draw. With the new motor, it barley effects idle. Something for TC folks to look out for.
